Math Mindset classes are small-group learning environments where students in grades 2–9 work independently on the math concepts they need most. Throughout class, I meet one-on-one with each student to answer questions, teach concepts, provide guidance, and encourage confidence as they grow.
Both! Every student has different goals and needs. Some students bring schoolwork and use class time to get support with current assignments while addressing areas of need as they arise. Others work primarily with materials I provide to strengthen skills and fill foundational gaps. Many students benefit from a combination of both, using part of their class time for schoolwork and part for targeted practice designed specifically for them.
You're not alone—many students come to class feeling frustrated or unsure of their abilities. Math Mindset classes are designed to provide a supportive environment where students can ask questions, build skills at their own pace, and experience success. My goal is to help students develop the confidence to approach challenges with a positive mindset and discover that they are capable of learning and growing in math.
Discovery Nook classes go beyond practicing math skills. Students learn how to approach challenges with confidence, think critically, and develop effective problem-solving strategies in a supportive small-group setting. The goal is not only to strengthen mathematical understanding but also to help students build the confidence and resilience needed to tackle new challenges independently.
